A Whole New World...

Remember the days when you could hop on a plane, dine at a restaurant, shop at the mall, go to the gym or take a vacation? Seems like it has been ages since we were able to do these things, yet it has only been a few weeks since “self-quarantining” became a thing.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll be going back to “life as we knew it” anytime soon. And then – when we do – will it REALLY be anything like we knew it before? I think things are going to be quite different, in my personal opinion.

I have already seen the signs when I go out for my weekly essentials shopping. People in masks and gloves, staying away from one another, no handshakes or hugs. Humans are now living in fear of one another due to this virus. And while this social distancing goes against all of my natural instincts and has been a major adjustment for me on a personal level, I realize the importance of flattening this curve and keeping one another safe.

While I long for the “good ole days”, there are some positive things that have come out of this for me. I’ve been given the gift of TIME to do so many things that I had been putting off before – like this blog for example. I’ve been able to spend more time with my husband, have adjusted my business model to fit the “Plan B” footprint and I’ve gotten pretty good at navigating this whole ZOOM thing – both for business and for happy hours.

I guess the message here is to be careful what you ask because it just might come true. So many times in the past I have uttered the words “if I only had more time” or “I need 2 of me to get everything done.” Little did I know the price that would be paid for those affirmations. The best thing we can do for ourselves right now is to take lessons from the butterfly…..

· Let go of the past

· Trust the future

· Embrace Change

· Let your beauty show

· Spread your wings

· Be your own kind of wonderful

With love and light,
